Lori Decker
entered into black and white photography while attending East Central College in
1984. She was allowed to further her studies in B&W from journalism (working
for the PR Dept. of the College) through print manipulations and hand coloring
(working also for the graphic arts dept.) to working for a portrait studio as
both photographer and darkroom technician. At the portrait studio she
photographed portraits and weddings as well as B&W developing and printing for
several local news publications. Upon leaving the portrait studio in 1997, began
to photograph weddings as “Photos by Lori” which quickly escalated to a full
service indoor and outdoor studio in her home outside Owensville.

Photos by Lori relocated to 204 South First Street in Owensville as
of November 2003. This location provided the convenience of being at
the crossroads of the downtown area as well as the expansive space
for large group photography. The studio offers 20 types of
backgrounds for portraiture and commercial purposes. Location
portraits are still a favorite with studio and client alike, whether
in your
own location or one of ours.
NEWS
FLASH
As of
January 2009 the studio will relocate to the Gerald - Rosebud area
and be home based once more. I refuse to raise prices in this
economy! So to reduce overhead, I've decided to work from home
and continue to utilize outdoor locations. I will be posting the
latest family portraits photographed on their personal locations.
Watch for details!

Titled “Painted Lady” and "One, and Only",
Lori’s entries will be
shown in Las Vegas alongside approximately 4,000 other photographic
works from not only PPA’s print competition, but also traveling and
special invitational displays. Altogether these images will
constitute the world’s largest annual exhibit of professional
photography gathered simultaneously under one roof.
In recognition of the achievement, PPA members receive one merit
certificate for each entry into the General Collection and two
merits for each entry into the Loan Collection. These merits can be
applied toward degrees granted by the association.
The Professional Photographers of America, an international
association, exists to assist its more than 14,000 members in
achieving their professional, artistic and fraternal goals; to
promote public awareness of the profession; and to advance the
making of images in all of its disciplines as an art, a science, and
a visual recorder of history. |
